Operations Expanding with DHL Express
Friday, Aug 30 2019 Randall-Reilly Editor
DHL Express is working to provide freight hauling services for even more shipping customers in the region. As a result, the trucking company has expanded with a bigger facility for truck drivers and truck maintenance to take place onsite. This saves drivers time and ensures everyone maintains safer driving over the road. Take a look at this new facility to learn more about what truck drivers can expect from DHL Express as an employer.
About the Facility
The project involved upgrading an existing truck driver terminal. The facility was expanded to include twice the amount of square footage as the previous service center. With this expansion came the price tag of $4 million. With that money, DHL Express has added all-new truck maintenance infrastructure. For instance, the new service center has an assembly line feature that allows drivers to get their trucks up and on the ramps quicker in the service bays. This helps speed up the process and allows the diesel techs to better sort vehicles that are ready to deliver to drivers.
About DHL Express
DHL Express is a trucking company based in West Hartford, Connecticut. The service area for truck drivers at DHL Express includes parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Here you are in the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions for trucking jobs. It’s prime hauling territory because the freight is moving so rapidly in and out of this highly populated and richly economic area.
After all, you are within proximity of Philly, NYC, Washington DC, and Boston—some of the most productive and packed cities in the nation. As a truck driver living in this region, you are going to be able to get the high paying trucking jobs you deserve. Start here at Trucker Classifieds to find out just how much you can expect to make.
DHL Express Trucking Jobs
The type of DHL Express trucking jobs that are available includes P&D or pickup and delivery jobs. This is similar to the type of parcel freight hauled by UPS, FedEx, and other local trucking companies. If you have experience in last mile or end mile services, this is where you can let that experience shine. You are able to work with a company that works directly with shipping customers face to face.
This gives you a chance to really put your customer service skills to good use. Last mile services are becoming a mainstay for all P&D and LTL trucking companies. That’s because more and more shipping customers are becoming residential rather than commercial. When you work for a company that gives you the tools to work in this capacity, you are able to be a truck driver while still being closely connected to your customer base.
Finding the Right Trucking Job For You
This is different from OTR truck driving jobs where you often see a customer every two or four days. Depending on your personality, you might want to consider if customer service is a skill you want to provide as a trucker. For some OTR truck drivers who are tired of being away from humans all of the time, a move to P&D freight might just be the best move you make.
