SAGE Truck Driving School in Lexington, SC

The first, SAGE Truck Driving School, is a nationally recognized CDL training program. Along with the Lexington location, SAGE Truck Driving School is located in Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Florida, Indianapolis, North Carolina, New York, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

By choosing this big of a trucking school in South Carolina, you also gain the resources of other SAGE Truck Driving School locations around the nation. Say you want to move to another state and need to get refresher training for your CDL. You can go to a local SAGE location and get the same type of experience that you came to expect at the SC facility.

At SAGE Truck Driving School, you are able to take CDL training for your Class A or Class B CDL.

Class A CDL training includes several different classes. If you are completely new to truck driving, then the Comprehensive Tractor-Trailer Driver Basic program is the best solution. This is what the school calls its flagship program and, as a result, it is the most popular. You spend four to five weeks in the classroom and in the yard in training.

The school also offers the Commercial Driver’s License Essentials course for rookie drivers with little to no experience, as well as the Tractor-Trailer Driver Advanced course that speeds up training to two to three weeks. The Tractor-Trailer Driver Refresher course is for CDL holders who need to improve their truck driving skills and gain behind the wheel experience. It runs for one to two weeks.

There is also the Tractor-Trailer Driver Externship and the Straight Truck Class B Driver programs. With the externship, SAGE Truck Driving School pairs you with a sponsored trucking company. You work with a driver trainer for five weeks to receive behind the wheel experience. Best of all, you get paid as a trucker while in this externship program. In addition to spending five weeks behind the wheel, you also get five weeks of in-lab training and one-on-one instruction.

Truck Driver Institute in Richburg, SC

At the Truck Driver Institute located in Richburg, SC student drivers can earn a CDL in 15 days. This school has been training student drivers for more than 20 years. Over that time they have developed a streamlined curriculum and training center to provide effective CDL training. Along with classroom instruction, you get behind the wheel with on-site semis and an 18-acre campus to practice maneuvering, backing, parking, and coupling.

Class A CDL training at this trucking school in South Carolina is unique to other trucking schools. Here you don’t have a total tuition cost that you see. Instead, the Truck Driver Institute expects you to pay $200 to $300. This is your upfront cost and it may be more if you need to pay for lodging on campus. Other trucking schools require you to pay $2,000 to $3,000 for your total tuition, so this is a lot less of a rate. However, this isn’t the entire picture.

The Truck Driver Institute has a ton of different programs set up to help trucking school students in South Carolina pay for CDL training. You are able to apply to tuition assistance programs including career education funding and employer tuition assistance at the school. These programs are sponsored by trucking schools and training resources.
