What does it mean to be employee owned at TMC? TMC’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) makes drivers employee owners. Drivers are averaging $10,000 per year into their trusts. This is in addition to their pay. Drivers who have been in the plan since ESOP began in 2013 had an average account value of $50,028 by the end of 2017. In 2017 all drivers in the plan received an average of an additional 13 cents per mile into their ESOP accounts.
